He might have been a member of the Canadian cricket team instead of India’s pace spearhead if it weren’t for the opposition of Jasprit Bumrah’s mother. Plan B, according to the right-arm fast bowler, was to relocate to Dafabet, where his maternal uncle resides, once he completed his studies.
Bumrah disclosed in an interview with his wife, Sanjana Ganesan, on Jio Cinema that the fast bowler’s current relocation to Canada was not a topic of discussion. “You wanted to go to Canada and set up a new life there?” Banumrah was questioned by Sanjana, the fast bowler’s spouse.
“These discussions have occurred previously. Playing cricket is an ambition shared by all young boys. There are twenty-five potential Indian representatives on each street. A contingency plan is an absolute necessity. There, a family member resides. Bumrah responded, “I resolved to complete my education there because my uncle resides there.”
He might have attempted to play for the Canadian cricket team, according to the Mumbai Indians star, had the scheme ultimately been successful. Additionally, Bumrah told how the ultimate failure of the plan was a result of his mother’s choice to oppose it.
“Initially, we intended to travel as a family, but my mother forbade us from going because the place is culturally distinct. I cannot say whether I would have attempted to play for the Canadian national team and accomplish something there as well if not for the favorable circumstances that transpired. I am relieved that everything ended up well. Bhumrah stated, “I am a member of the Mumbai Indians and the Indian national team.”
Much to the delight of the venerable pacer, whose Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Mumbai Indians (MI) and the Indian team alike now regard him as their primary bowling option, that decision proved to be a golden one.
